Commencement Address
Jodi Nunnari 鈥�84 will deliver the Commencement Address to the Class of 2026. Nunnari is a leader in the field of mitochondrial biology. Mitochondria are the cellular structures that provide energy and metabolic building blocks to living cells, and they are implicated in a wide range of diseases and aging. Nunnari was the first to describe mitochondria as a dynamic network in a homeostatic balance, and her lab described the mitochondrial division and fusion machines. Her lab also elucidated additional mechanisms underlying mitochondrial behavior within cells, including how mitochondrial membranes are organized, how mitochondria communicate with the endoplasmic reticulum, and how the mitochondrial genome is transmitted.
Nunnari鈥檚 academic body of work includes more than 100 publications spanning more than two decades and has been published in the most prestigious scientific journals in the world. Her papers have been cited by other research publications more than nine thousand times.
Nunnari is currently a senior vice president, head of discovery science and founding principal investigator at Altos Labs. Altos Labs focuses on cellular rejuvenation programming with the goal of reversing disease. Prior to joining Altos, she served as distinguished professor of molecular and cellular biology at the University of California-Davis from 1998 to 2022. Additionally, Nunnari is a Fellow and past president of the American Society for Cell Biology, and an elected member of the National Academy of Sciences, the European Molecular Biology Organization and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. Nunnari earned her B.A. in chemistry at 69直播 and her doctorate in pharmacology from the Vanderbilt University School of Medicine in 1989.

To receive tickets for Commencement, please complete the . You may request as many tickets as needed to accommodate your party. Each submission of the form will generate a set of tickets that will be sent directly to the email address you enter.
Important Instructions:
- Each form submission will send all tickets requested on that form to the email address entered on that submission.
- You may submit the form more than once if you would like tickets sent to different email addresses.
- For example, you may choose to have some tickets sent directly to you and some to other members of your party. Or you may have all tickets sent to yourself so that you can distribute them.

Commencement Bag Policy
With everyone鈥檚 safety in mind, 69直播 has a strict bag policy for our Commencement ceremony.
PLEASE NOTE: Guests whose bags do not meet the criteria below will need to return them to their locked vehicles or make other arrangements. No on-site bag storage will be available.
Permitted bags at the Scot Center include:
- Clear Tote Bags: No larger than 15鈥� x 6鈥� x 18鈥�
- Clear Plastic Storage Bags: One (1) gallon, resealable
- Small Clutch Purses: Must fit in the hand, with our without a handle or strap, and be no larger than 4.5鈥� x 6.5鈥�. These can be carried separately or inside an approved clear plastic bag.

Laser pointers, artificial noisemakers, or amplification devices
Fireworks of any kind
Professional audio/video recording equipment (cameras with lenses less than 10 inches permitted)
Banners, flags, flag poles, selfie sticks, umbrellas, signs, etc.

Pets (excluding service animals)
Any items that could potentially cause disruption, block the view of others, or pose safety concerns
