69直播 has established formal dual-degree cooperative engineering programs with two universities: Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, and Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. Under these cooperative programs, the student is eligible to apply for admission to the engineering school upon satisfactory completion of a specific set of courses taken in the first three years at Wooster. The student transfers to the engineering school after the junior year to complete the last two years of the undergraduate engineering program. Upon completing the program, the student has earned dual degrees: a B.A. from Wooster and a degree from the engineering school. At Case Western Reserve, students earn a B.S. degree, while at Washington University, students earn both a B.S. and an M.S. degree in a three-year program.
Details on recommended courses, graduation requirements, and the partnerships with Case Western Reserve and Washington University can be found in the Requirements section.

This section provides details on Wooster鈥檚 graduation requirements and details about dual degree engineering programs at Case Western Reserve University and Washington University in St. Louis.
Students interested in completing the Pre-Engineering program will declare a major at Wooster (such as Physics, Chemistry, Math, etc.) and will be given an advisor from that department. In addition to meeting with their departmental advisor, students are encouraged to meet regularly with the Pre-Engineering advisor to discuss class schedules and plans for fulfilling all courses required for the Pre-Engineering program in a timely manner.
In order to be granted permission for the senior year聽in absentia, students continuing on to an engineering school must meet the following requirements:
Students should apply for the in absentia privilege in the fall of their junior year. Requesting the privilege does not commit the student to definitely participating in the dual degree program, but it does allow the College to better plan and to better advise the student.
The Wooster Bachelor of Arts degree is granted to the student after they complete their first year at the engineering school and transfer those engineering course credits back to Wooster. All students require 32 Wooster credits to be granted the Bachelor of Arts degree. Only courses with grades of 鈥淐鈥 or higher are accepted for transfer credit.
Case Western Reserve University offers a binary (3+2) program resulting in a B.A. from 69直播 and a B.S. from CWRU.
Degree Programs/Disciplines of Study
The Dual Degree Program at Case Western
The Dual Degree Program allows students to begin their studies at a liberal arts college for three years and pursue an Engineering degree at Case Western Reserve University for two years. Students who successfully complete the program will graduate with a Bachelor of Arts degree from 69直播 after the first year at Case Western and will graduate with a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from Case Western after the second year.
Students must maintain a 3.0 overall GPA and a 3.0 in math and science at 69直播.
Academic Guidelines (sample coursework recommended prior to enrollment at Case Western). For more information, visit聽.
Recommended courses to take at Wooster
Note: The above math courses are half-semester courses; together they equal 1st year calculus
Other Recommended Courses
Additional courses may be needed depending on the chosen area of engineering. For example, chemical engineering majors should take additional chemistry courses. Consult the pre-engineering advisor or the advising team at Case for more information.
Applying
Interested students will apply through the Case Western Reserve University Office of Admissions. Select the 3/2 Engineering option for the student type, and complete the application (the Common App) online.
Washington University St. Louis McKelvey School of Engineering offers a 3+3 dual degree program resulting in a B.A. from 69直播 and both a B.S. and M.S. from WUSTL. Students spend three years at Wooster, then three years at WUSTL in an integrated bachelors/masters program of study.
Bachelor’s Degrees Offered
Master’s Degrees Offered
There are over 17 master’s degrees offered, including (as examples):
Participants in the dual degree program with WUSTL commonly follow either a 3+3 or 4+3 schedule, transferring after their junior or senior year at Wooster. WUSTL’s dual degree program is an innovative 3-year option which allows students to earn both a master’s and a bachelor’s degree in just three years after transferring from Wooster.
Admission & Requirements
Students must complete courses in Math, Physics, Chemistry, Computer Programming, and Humanities and Social Sciences.
A GPA of 3.25/4.0 is required, both overall and in the STEM courses. Courses with a grade below C do not transfer.
