69直播鈥檚 Archaeology Student Colloquium will host Archaeology Day on Saturday, Oct. 23 on the Scot Center Promenade.

The event, in celebration of International Archaeology Day, is open to all Wooster students, faculty, staff, their families, and local members of the American Institute of Archaeology (AIA). It will be held 11 a.m.-4 p.m. In case of inclement weather, the event will be moved to the Governance Room in the Scot Center.

COVID-19 protocols, including mandatory masking, will be in place. Because of this, the event is not open to the broader community.

The Archaeology Day event at Wooster will feature sandbox excavation for kids, tree rings from Ohio and Alaska, Cedar Creek mastodon and hominin fossil casts, artifacts from Ohio and around the world, atlatl throwing and archery, student summer field reports, and the Wooster archaeology lab camel skeleton.

International Archaeology Day is a celebration of archaeology and its contributions to our societies. Every October, the AIA and its participating organizations, including 69直播, use Archaeology Day events to present archaeological programs and activities for people of all ages and interests.
