Ms. Relle,
Thank you so much for visiting my page! I had a wonderful time working with Camp Nuhop and am excited to see how the online education platform continues to grow in the future. You’re creating something that is truly brilliant.

Ms. Griffin,
Going forward, I imagine that the skills I’ve gained this summer can be leveraged in many ways! In the near future, experience with remote education is important to school districts who are choosing to keep students in a remote or hybrid-learning atmosphere; I can use my experience with Nuhop creating asynchronous lessons to create lessons for students at home.
Moreover, I now have extensive knowledge of Google products, which has been growing in popularity throughout districts in the past few years. This experience has given me tools I can use to set myself apart from other teaching candidates when I interview for teaching positions in the spring, and I am very thankful for skills I learned!

Ryan,
Thank you so much for visiting my page!
One particular “technique” that I made sure to incorporate in my lessons was being mindful to have a variety of activities that catered to all students. Not only did I make sure to have an activity for the student to complete hands-on, but I also provided reading materials, videos to watch, and links to external sources to engage students who learn in different ways. I know that not everyone learns best by reading an article or watching a video, so I made sure that students were able to work with the material in a multitude of ways to continually build their understanding.

Doctor Krain,
Thank you for your support and continual advice throughout this experience. I couldn’t have asked for a better faculty advisor!
The most important recommendation that I have for educators when creating engaging, remote lessons is to think outside the box and utilize websites and materials that seem unfamiliar. It is very easy to get “stuck” only using the traditional online resources that we use in a typical year, and the beauty of online education is that it allows for creativity and utilization of external resources in a way that educators may have not considered before.
One thing I continually repeated to myself when creating my own lessons was, “If the lesson seems boring and monotonous to you, it probably is for your students, too.” This was my cue to reevaluate and recreate the activities I had embedded in my lesson to make them more challenging and hands-on, ensuring students were truly getting an “experiential learning” experience at home.
