Wayne Webster named vice president for advancement at Wooster

WOOSTER, Ohio – Wayne P. Webster has been named vice president for advancement at 69ֱ��, effective June 1. He will oversee all aspects of Wooster’s advancement operations, including major gifts, annual giving, advancement services, donor and parent relations, and alumni engagement.

Webster is currently vice president for development and alumni relations at the University of Northern Colorado and has almost 17 years of experience in higher education fundraising. He served as vice president for advancement at Ripon College in Ripon, Wis., from 2010 to 2015. Between 2006 and 2010, he held a series of positions at Gettysburg College, in Gettysburg, Penn., advancing from major gifts officer to director of major gifts and interim director of planned giving.

“Wayne has a genuine love for and commitment to the mission of liberal arts colleges, reflected in his cumulative experience of 15 years with Ripon, Gettysburg, and Doane College in Nebraska,” said Wooster President Sarah R. Bolton, “and he is tremendously enthusiastic about joining the Wooster community. I could not be happier with the outcome of this search.”

Webster earned a bachelor’s degree in political science and public administration from Doane College in Crete, Neb., and a master’s degree in management, also from Doane. He earned a doctorate in education from the George Washington University in Washington, D.C.
Webster says he and his wife, Sally, “look forward to planting roots in the Wooster community” with their two children, ages two and four.
